Since 2012, Jindas has focused on empowering struggling Israeli families, while simultaneously addressing the shortage of quality, affordable housing across Israel. Taking a model first started in the city of Lod–one of Israel’s oldest and most diverse cities–Jindas is now laying the groundwork in other Israeli cities, including those with significant Ethiopian-Israeli representation. The Jindas team works at the ground level to help vulnerable neighbors meet their immediate needs, while also giving them a voice in how their neighborhoods can look. The long-term aim is to ensure these neighbors will have an emotional investment in a newly-revitalized community.
